Our Mission
Beyond Walls Collaborative is a supportive community for homeschool and worldschool families, and parents seeking alternative education paths for their children. We believe in fostering a natural and holistic learning environment where children of mixed ages can thrive. Our focus is on autonomy, creativity, and connection, providing a unique educational experience for every child.

Q: Where are you located?
A : Beyond Walls is nature-inspired, with a heavy focus on a constant change of pace. We will spend as much time outside as possible, on field trips, and strongly encouraging an outdoor learning model. We meet at our studio space when weather changes plans, or learning workshops require an indoor space. See our "home base" studio: Breakforth. Belonging to, and following along in the group will give you all the up- to date meetings, locations, and events you can be part of!

Q: Is this a school ?
A : No, Beyond Walls is not a school, daycare, or drop-off program. We are a parent- inclusive cooperative space offering workshops, resources, and community-led learning opportunities. In our meet ups: parents are present and responsible for their child for the duration of the activity, together as a village.
Looking for a drop off opportunity? Beyond Walls will host drop-off options for 1-2 hour independent workshops (overseen by an Adult Learning Lead). Stay tuned for the schedule for these particular programs.

Q: What age group is this geared towards ?
A : Beyond Walls Collaborative is designed for children of mixed ages. Rather than grouping children strictly by age or grade, we align learning with developmental readiness, interests, and individual pace. Learning is developmental, not linear.

Q: How does your education model work?
A : Beyond Walls uses a tiered, mastery-based learning model rather than traditional grade levels. Workshops are designed to be open-ended, Adaptable in complexity, and facilitated with intention. Every parent is encouraged to engage at their child's level, and customize their learning journey to their child's needs.
Q: My child isn't homeschooled, can we utilize any of these programs ?
A : Absolutely. There are no restrictions to who joins, visits, plays, or learns alongside us. If it works for you, it works for us. Keep in mind, too, this Collab is just as much for parent support, as it is for children.
Q: I'm not sure I want to commit to anything financially. Are there opportunities outside of workshops that involve social gatherings?
A : Yes! Beyond Walls Collaborative offers low-pressure ways to connect beyond workshops, including community gatherings and shared learning opportinites- no financial commitment required.
